This Privacy Policy explains how the World Cup 2026 Bracket Explorer website (the "Site"), hosted at https://kesavmohan.github.io/world-cup-2026-bracket/, handles information from visitors. The Site is a small, independent project and is not affiliated with FIFA, the United States Soccer Federation, the Canadian Soccer Association, or the Mexican Football Federation.

1. Information we do not collect

The Site is a static HTML page. It does not have a user account system, does not ask you to sign in, does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information, and does not store anything you click or type on a server. Filter selections, team pickers, and sort orders live entirely in your browser tab and disappear when you close it.

2. Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by services we use, as described below.

2.1 Server logs (GitHub Pages)

The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect standard request information (such as your IP address, user-agent string, referrer, and the resources you requested) as part of routine operation. This data is governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement.

2.2 Google AdSense

The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to the Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use its partners' sites or apps, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

2.3 Other third parties

The Site may load additional resources (such as fonts or stylesheets) from third-party content delivery networks. These services may receive your IP address and user-agent as part of standard HTTP requests.

3. Cookies

The Site itself does not set first-party cookies. However, third-party services described above — in particular Google AdSense — may set cookies in your browser. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how ads are personalized but will not prevent the Site's core functionality from working.

4. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have rights regarding personal information that third-party services hold about you. Please consult those services' privacy policies (linked above) for instructions on exercising those rights.

6. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

7. Contact

This Site is maintained by Kesav Mohan. Questions about this Privacy Policy can be raised by opening an issue on the project's GitHub repository: github.com/KesavMohan/world-cup-2026-bracket/issues.
